How to Build a Growth Operating System Using Search and Intent Signals
The operating system for growth in the intent economy
So based on what Erich is describing, here’s how I’d recommend building a real operational system for growth.
1) Monitor the needs (and emerging needs) of your market
Start by tracking what people are actively trying to solve.
Not what they claim in surveys, but what they actually search for and ask.
Needs show up in plain language.
They’re not “segments.” They’re problems.
2) Translate needs into demand spaces you can win
Once you see what people want, connect it to what you offer:
Which needs do we genuinely solve?
Which ones are we best positioned to win?
Where can we become the obvious choice?
This is where strategy becomes practical.
3) Build the brand as memory + availability
This is what brand building really is:
Be remembered. And be present when the moment shows up.
If your brand isn’t recalled, you don’t get considered.
If your brand isn’t present, you don’t get chosen.
4) Use intent signals as your growth input
The most valuable data we now have access to at scale is simple:
What people search for.
And what they’re asking AI assistants.
That’s live demand.
It’s the closest thing to a real-time feed of what the market wants.
5) Turn it into a system, not a campaign calendar
The shift is not “better campaigns.”
It’s building a loop:
intent → response → action → learning → repeat
That’s how growth compounds.
And that’s how you build an operating system around growth.
